Waiting To Go is
a parody of Samuel Beckett's Waiting For Godot. It is the
result of too much alcohol combined with a profound and wholly
unwarranted hatred of Beckett.
Waiting To Go stars Pipi, Nogo, Pizzo and Leaky. The bare tree has been replaced by a port-a-potty.
In the kind of agony we can all appreciate, Pipi and Nogo wait for Godot to get out of the bathroom. He doesn't.
The script is mercifully brief,
allowing plenty of time for audience members to visit the bathroom
themselves. It has a running time of roughly fifteen to twenty
minutes.
Waiting To Go is reproduced here in its entirety. If you're theatrically inclined and interested in producing this script, please contact Gene Doucette. Mr. Doucette is not responsible for any urinary urges following the reading of this play.
